When was the last International Airport built in the United States?

We're going to be the proud recipients of a new INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT in Bay County, FLORIDA!

I'm not sure when the most recent International Airport was built in the US, but I've been told it's been a while.  One thing for certain... we need the new airport for future growth and development.

The Bay County Association of REALTORS® has hired a local firm to promote the unprecedented growth and development of the NW FL area.  Below are a couple of articles published by this company.  With permission, I would like to share the good news with you!

Date Set for Bay County International Airport Groundbreaking Ceremony:  November 1, 2007

Early today the Airport Authority began emailing invitations to a "Ceremonial Groundbreaking" for the new airport, to be held on Thursday, November 1, at 9:30 a.m. on Hwy 388 in West Bay.

The community has worked nearly ten years to reach this day.  Congratulations to Airport Authority Chairman Joe Tannehill, Airport Board Members Bill Cramer, Gerry Clemons, Rick Koehnemann and Andy McKenzie; Airport Executive Director Randy Curtis; and the countless others who have contributed to the process and worked so hard to bring better air service, economic development opportunities and environmental protection to our region.
